The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments:
(i) Shri Afzal Amanullah, IAS (BH:79), Special Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs vice Shri Desh Deepak Verma IAS (UP:78), on his retirement on 30.06.2013.
(ii) Ms Sangita Gairola, IAS (RJ:77), Secretary, Ministry of Culture as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports vice Ms. Nita Chowdhury, IAS (UP:77), on her relinquishing the charge of the post.
(iii) Shri Ravindra Singh IAS (UP:79), Special Secretary, Ministry of Culture as Secretary, Ministry of Culture vice Ms Sangita Gairola, IAS (RJ:77), on her relinquishing the charge of the post.
(iv) Ms. Nita Chowdhury, IAS (UP:77), Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development vice Shri Prem Narain, IAS (UP:78).
(v) Placing Shri Prem Narain, IAS (UP:78), Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development on compulsory wait in the Ministry of Women and Child Development until further orders.
