In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President has appointed Shri Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed, senior-most Judge of the High Court of Delhi, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from today, the 10th of June, 2013, consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Darmar Murugesan, Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi.
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President has appointed Shri Justice Mool Chand Garg, Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi, as Judge of that High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
