Pulses Prices Steady at Wholesale Centers

As per data monitored by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food, prices of pulses during the week July 18-25, 2013 remained steady across the country. Price Monitoring cell of the Ministry regular monitors prices of twenty two essential commodities at 55 market centers.

During the period prices of Gram Dal decreased at eight centers which were Delhi, Lucknow, Rajkot, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Agartala and Chennai but slightly increased at three centers which are Jammu, Indore, Kozhikode.

Prices of Tur Dal decreased at five centers which were Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Ranchi and Agartala and slightly increased at Jammu, Jaipur and Kozhikode during the period.

Decrease in prices of Urad Dal was registered at four centers which are Agra, Rajkot, Jaipur and Sambalpur while increase at four centers which are Delhi, Amritsar, Cuttack and Agartala.

Prices of Moong Dal also decreased at three centers which are Agra, Rajkot and Vijayawada while increased at Jaipur, Cuttack and Thiruvananthapuram.

Prices of twenty two essential commodities are regularly monitored by Department of Consumer Affairs for taking suitable action to keep the prices under check. These commodities include Rice, Wheat, Atta, Gram Dal, Tur (Arhar ) Dal, Urad Dal , Moong Dal, Masur Dal, Sugar, Gur, Groundnut Oil, Mustard Oil, Vanaspati, Sunflower Oil, Soya Oil, Palm Oil, Tea, Milk, Potato, Onion and Salt . Price datas are collected on daily basis from the State Civil Supplies Departments of the respective State Governments.
